Website changes

I have just made some small website changes. I have added a GetGlue widget, to the right-hand side widget bar.

Also made some small changes to my twitter feed. I have stopped GetGlue from posting to it. Since my whole feed was getting filled up with very boring GetGlue checkins.

Got twitter? Then you may want to follow…

If you have twitter, I would get following… this week…

  • TourofBritain – the UK’s version of the Tour de France. It’s on all this week.
  • SkodaUKCycling – Live news & views from the official car partner for the Tour of Britain 2011.
  • Swiftybswift – Team Sky professional and 2008 Beijing Olympian. Very fit to :).

Yes they are all cycling ones. Then I do love cycling, so I am sure you will let me off!

Please also follow me! @ gsvalentine.

Fixed some photo gallery bugs

If like myself you like to get most of your website updates via twitter or RSS feeds then you will be happy :). At long last I have got the RSS comments feed working again. It stopped working when I upgraded to a new version of zenphoto. Which is the CMS (content management system), gallery system I use on this website. So now it’s been working when anyone posts a comment on a photo, it will automatically get posted to my twitter feed.

The RSS feed for the photo comments is: www.gordon-valentine.com/zenphoto/index.php?rss-comments&type=gallery&lang=en_US.

My twitter feed is twitter.com/gsvalentine which you should all know by now 🙂

First of all I would like to say a big thank-you to everyone that looked at the new look Killearn on the Web. It’s now the most popular it’s been in years. Think I have just about copied all the information and photos over from the old website. Also been using twitter.com/killearnUK a lot more. With all the snow, don’t think I could have timed the new look website any better. Since people have been checking it out for the latest local school information which I have been posting via twitter. Now I have started working on a cycling page for routes from Killearn, please check it out at http://killearnontheweb.co.uk/transport/information-for-cyclists/.

The rest of the day, I spent just watching TV and doing some other stuff around the house. Before going to work in the evening.

Monday – 26th April 2010

I went for a nice cycle to Rutland Water, which by it’s self is a 18 mile route-trip. Since the weather was so nice, I also cycled around it, adding another 16 miles to the cycle. The full statistics from the cycle are as followed: Time 2.28.30 (h:m:s). Average speed: 14 mph. Maximum speed: 34.6 mph. Total distance: 34.77 miles. Elevation Gain: 508 metres. Oh and sorry no photos from today’s cycle.

Oh and just to remind you, you can now follow me at twitter.com/gsvalentine. I have 104 followers right now, I would love to get that up to at least 150. So please follow me, you know that you want to 🙂
