Going my first holiday with Bugsy! Which included doing the first 3 days of the England Coast Path. Plus walking around coast of Holy Island.

Walking the of Dales Way Links, which took us 17.73 miles from Harrogate to Ilkley.

Using Dent railway station, Which is the highest operational main line station in England, at an altitude of 1,150 feet (350 metres).

Oh and of the biggest single best thing I’ve DONE in years! That was of course, walking the whole of the Dales Way from Ilkley in West Yorkshire to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria.

Cycling from York to the Tan Hill Inn, update!

You may all remember that on 26th July 2020, did a blog post about hoping to cycle from York to the Tan Hill Inn, which is the highest pub in Great Britain at 1732ft above sea level…. Well about 90% sure, it’s going to happen!

Like OMG, it will have around 1,355 metres of total ascent in around 70 miles! it will be hard, hard going… But I can’t wait!!

This will be my biggest cycling adventure since, doing the End to End cycle, way back in 2009! But BRING IT ON!!

Think it will be happening in the next two weeks! Will post more, when I know for sure!

Anyone up for cycling from York to the Tan Hill Inn?

After my last very big cycle adventure, which was cycling all the way from John O’ Groats to Land’s End, covering a distance of 990.30 miles over 16 days. Which was way, way back in 2009. Really think I’m long overdue another adventure.

Right now, my plain is to get a train up to York, then cycle from York to the Tan Hill Inn, which is the highest pub in Great Britain at 1732ft above sea level. A distance of around 70 miles, with an Elevation Gain of 4,509ft.

Then stay the night at the Tan Hill Inn! Then the following morning cycle to Settle, a distance of around 36 miles, with an Elevation Gain of 3,045ft. Where I could get the train back to Grantham.

That makes it sound very, very easy! Which of course, I know it will not be!

So what do you think of this idea? Please do let me know!
