LNER Class 43 at Stirling railway station, which also happened to be my ride between Edinburgh Haymarket and Stirling.
Also very sad, this could well be my very last trip on LNER Class 43 in Scotland. Since from the 9th December, the London King’s Cross – Inverness LNER route, will change over to the Azuma service (Class 800).
Loving the refurbished bridge and new lift at Stirling railway station, which provides better access to platforms nine and 10. Network Rail have done a great job!

I know that most people will not think the same… But I, for one think that Stirling railway station, looks much better, since electrification. It makes it feel, more like a main railway station. Which of course it is, since you can get trains to Aberdeen, Alloa, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and even London!
But it’s going to take me a while getting use to, using a Class 365 running to/from Stirling. Since I’am so use to seeing, them run between London King’s Cross and Peterborough, in the past.
I also for one, think that ScotRail are doing a great job! So nice to see, some of the work, they have and Network Rail, have been doing start, to pay off!

It’s the first time, that I’ve been back to Stirling railway station, since they started the electrification work!
I had a great day in Stirling with Neil! We both went to Stirling Castle. Got no idea, when I last went! Have a feeling it was over 10 years ago! We also went to Argyll’s Lodging, again in Stirling.
I am now really starting to get the use out of my Historic Scotland membership! 🙂
