I ticked off, 7 railway stations during my trip to Scotland with Nick. I believe they are, 357 stations in Scotland. So far, I’ve done 39. So leaving another 318 more to go…
Also did…
Do really, love getting trains from Stirling railway station! Great place to see InterCity 125s and the new Class 385 trains.

Turns out while in Scotland, I’ve stared walking anther canal without really meaning too. This time, The Union Canal (Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal).
So far, I’ve (along with Nick and Neil) walked from the very start, which is close to the Falkirk Wheel to Polmont. A distance of 9.58 miles.
Check out the route, we took over at www.strava.com/activities/2441792248

Since, I am sure that most of will know, that I love railways, railway stations and of course trains… It was about time, I sorted out a trains photo gallery! Which I’ve sorted by Class of train.
Glasgow Central railway station is the busiest in Scotland. But it happens to be, the one I use the least! Mainly due to fast, you can’t get many direct train to it from Peterborough any more. Like you could under the GNER days! Which is one, of the main reasons, I started mainly driving to/from Scotland and stopped using the train!
LNER, is doing a way better job than both National Express East Coast and Virgin Trains East Coast, ever did! But, I still would rate GNER has the best railway franchise the UK ever had!

I know that most people will not think the same… But I, for one think that Stirling railway station, looks much better, since electrification. It makes it feel, more like a main railway station. Which of course it is, since you can get trains to Aberdeen, Alloa, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and even London!
But it’s going to take me a while getting use to, using a Class 365 running to/from Stirling. Since I’am so use to seeing, them run between London King’s Cross and Peterborough, in the past.
I also for one, think that ScotRail are doing a great job! So nice to see, some of the work, they have and Network Rail, have been doing start, to pay off!
