Regent’s Canal, Tick ✅

I can now say, that along with Cooper. I’ve now walked the whole of the Regent’s Canal in London from Limehouse Basin to Paddington Basin.

The first part of the walk took us from Limehouse Basin to London Canal Museum a distance of 7.3 miles!

Then we took a boat trip from the London Canal Museum through the Islington Tunnel, which is the longest canal tunnel in the south of England!  If ever in the London area, I would really recommend you do! More info can be found out at canalmuseum.gttix.com/productdetails.aspx?productid=4720.

Then the second part of the walk took us from the London Canal Museum to Paddington Basin a distance of 5.2 miles!

Here are some photos from the walk!

Loved Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle 2017!

The Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle 2017 was so much fun! Glad I went for the second year in a row! Even in the rain, everyone was having great fun! I am already looking forward to going again next year! Cycling around London on fully closed roads is so much fun!!!

Check out the route, I took, which also includes the cycle from Kings X station, on open London roads at www.strava.com/activities/1107255648.

Oh and sorry, no photo at all! Since all my mates let me down! They only had a years notice, but till could not find the time! Maybe, I need to give them 10 years notice!

Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle 2016

I had so much fun doing the Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle. I did the very first back in 2013! But had not been again since now! I loved it! The weather could not have been better! Was great seeing so many other cyclists out! I be be for sure going again next year!

Here is a speeded for video of the cycle! I start the ride from King’s Cross station, then via various roads, before cycling down Oxford Street and Regent Street before meeting up with the FreeCycle route at Trafalgar Square.

Loved London in Pride 2016

Loved every second of Pride in London! After what happened in Orlando just a number of weeks back. I had to go, we can’t let hate win!

I was in tears, when we had a minutes silence, during the march. We have come a long way, but still have a long way to go!

Best part, was seeing everyone looking so happy and of course the Red Arrows. I did not know anything about that, till they went over!

I am already looking forward to next year! Think, it will be even bigger and better next year! Since it will 50 years since homosexuality was legalised in the UK!

Great day out in London : 10/04/2014

I had so much fun in London today! Here are some photos I took.

My favourite is the one of Tower Bridge. Here is what someone said about it on twitter “Who put that building there? It’s stopping the bridge from closing”. I had not even noticed that, till I read the comment! Would love to say I planned the photo, to come out like that. But no, it just sort of happened!

Oh and I have also tick off another three London Underground stations that I have used! I added Brixton, Clapham North and Monument to the list. The full list can be found at www.gordon-valentine.com/travel/railways/uk-national-rail-network/.
