First visit railway station visit of 2021

First time visiting a railway station in 2021. Only to meet a friend off a train (hello Mark T), which happened to be the Class 91 – 91111 For The Fallen. Going on my first train trip of 2021, on Bank Holiday Monday! Which I am so looking forward too.

Third 30+ mile cycle in a row

So pleased with myself, third 30+ mile cycle in a row! Did 36.38 miles, also making it the longest one of 2020 so far!

Check out today’s route at www.strava.com/activities/3618912092

P.S. Sorry no photos of myself, you will have to make do photos these LNER photos, I took at Tallington level crossing.

Looking forward to Highland Chieftain

So looking forward to last ever trip on a HST on the ECML. Getting the train from Grantham up to York (which I believe, will be a InterCity 225), then boarding the Highland Chieftain service, which will be operated by diesel-powered InterCity 125 High Speed Train for the very last time! Going all the way up to Inverness.

Class 43 at Grantham railway station

This will be my third time using the Highland Chieftain service. Really, really looking forward to it!

Once up in Inverness, hoping to do the Far North Line, for the very first time!

Class 91: 91119 LNER at Grantham railway station

At long last, I got a good photo of the Class 91 (#91119) in the ‘Swallow’ livery! Really going to miss these locomotives, when they all come off the ECML by the middle of next year.

London King’s Cross railway station ✅

Yes, I did tick off London King’s Cross railway station, a long time ago! Way back in 30th November 2002 in fact. But like more others, I always head straight to underground and head into the centre of London. But not this time, for once I walked the other way and went to end of the platforms to get some photos…
