Can’t believe the End2End cycle was five years ago

OMG! I can’t believe it was 5 years ago today, that I set off on the End to End cycle. Also means I have been single for a while 5 years! What is that all about????

Can’t believe the End2End cycle was two years ago

Celebrating at Land’s End

I have just finished watching “Stand By Me” on blu-ray. I had forgotten just how good that film is. I would give it 10/10. I think it would make it into my top ten, if not top five films you have to watch in your life.  Think I will be singing the theme song to myself for the rest of the day. So I feel sorry for people that I work with tonight.

So moving on from “Stand By Me” it got be thinking about the End to End cycle that I did in August 2009. I can’t believe it was just 2 years ago. Where has the time gone? This time two years ago, I would have been in the car on the way up to Killearn, then off to the starting point in John O’Groats the next day. I still can’t believe I did the whole cycle. With all the things that happened at the same time, like getting dumped, during it. The more I think about the cycle, the more and more I want to do it again. I was hoping to do it again this year. But the people I was hoping to go with all pulled out. You may all by thinking, you have done it once. So why do you want to do it again? That’s easy, it was so much fun. I also want to show myself I can do it again. Also next time, I think I would enjoy it more, since I know I can do it.

So I am going to make sure I do it next year. Even if I have to do the whole thing myself, which I would not mind, since I did most of it by myself last time. Well other then the first five days, when I was still with Mike. Then later on when I meet up with some other lads, also doing the cycle. So big hello to Ben, Edward and Henry.

Left to right: Ben, Edward, myself and Henry

Ben, Edward and Henry helped more than they will ever know. They reminded me why I was doing the cycle again in the first place. It was also nice to have people to chat to again, cycling for 16 days and only having yourself to chat to most of the time, did get a bit boring after a while.

Also doing the end was a bit part of the life for a good number of years, well before doing the cycle. Since I had been planning it on and off for years. So when I got Land’s End I was over the moon. Think it was one a day, I will remember for the rest of myself. At the same time, very sad. Since it was a end of chapter. I did had not needed the money, I think I would have turned around and cycled all the way back to the start in John O’Groats.

Sorry I hope I have not bored you all to much. In what may be one of the longest blog posts I have ever done. To read about the End to End cycle that I did in 2009 check out www.endtoend-cycle.com.  I will of course also be using that website for next years CYCLE!

Bye for now! xx

John O’Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE) cycle 2011

At the end of the 2009 End2End cycle

As I am sure most of your know I did the End2End cycle during August 2009 and this year I am hoping to do it again 🙂 Yes I want to do the 990 mile cycle all over again. I had so much  doing it, I want to do it again. Also this time, I want to remember it for all the right reason, like not getting dumping during it.

All doing to plain I will be doing it from Sunday 7th August 2011 to Monday 22nd August 2011, check out the End to End cycle website, for full list of dates.  Still not 2 sure what charity I am doing it for this time. So if you have any ideas please let me know! Right now I am thinking of doing it for Help for Heroes.

Also till got no idea who I am doing the cycle with, was going to be a group of us from working doing it, but most of them have pulled out, saying they have no money to do it. I think it’s just they don’t want to get showing up by a gay person :P.

Please check out the End to End cycle, to see photos, stats and much more from the 2009 cycle.

I made it from John O’Groats to Land’s End :)

I made it all the way from John O’Groats to Land’s End. I am, so, so proud of myself. It’s even more amazing, since I did well over half of the cycle by myself, since Mike pulled out of the End to End cycle and ended our 3 year relationship at the same time. It just goes to show that I am a lot stronger that I use to be.

You still have to to donate money to the National Autistic Society, via my justgiving page at www.justgiving.com/endtoend09. You can also check out photos from the cycle at www.endtoend-cycle.com.

Oh and also happy birthday to my wee brother Craig.

Thursday – 6th August 2009

Today Mike and myself had fun at the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium doing a photo shoot for the Peterborough Evening Telegraph for a news article that should be going in tomorrows ET about the End to End cycle that we’re doing. While there we also did some telephone interviews with Lite FM and Peterborough’s Heart FM but we’re not too sure when they will get aired.

Thursday – 25th June 2009

I have just gone and ordered myself a new bike from the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative. It’s set me back £549.99, so thank god for credit cards. Which means to say it off, I do at least 9 days of teaching First Aid Courses and not the spend the money on anything else! As long, as I have paid at least half of it off before going End to End cycle in August I will be happy. I can’t wait till I get it, all going well I will have it, before the end of next week. The bike I have gone for is the Marin Muirwoods 29ER ’09.
