That was a great cycle! We did just over 50 miles. But it did turn out, for me anyway. It was not a good idea cycling when it, was around 31C! My body on way back was not liking it, at all! Never had to drink so much in my life! Was, so, pleased when I was back home and having a COLD shower!

Please let me out or I will miss my train! Well no need to worry about missing the train. Since it’s only 2:25pm on a Sunday afternoon. This railway station, only gets two trains a day and none on a Sunday. So next train is due at 6:15am on Monday morning… Just hope he comes back with the keys before then…
That’s me now visited 109 of the railway stations in the UK! I’ve still got a long, long way to go! Since they are 2,560 of them, at my last check!
Full list of the ones, I’ve visited so far can be found at www.gordon-valentine.com/travel/railways/railway-stations/.
So far in 2019, I’ve visited for the first time…
Well done me! I’ve just done my second 40+ mile cycle of 2019. This time, I did 45.55 miles. Would have been nice to do 50 miles, but it was starting to get dark and I only had my back lights with me!
Of course, during this cycle, I did even more Geocaching. I’ve now found 330 in total! 🙂

So far in 2019, I’ve added the following railway stations to my list…
Think out of them, Elton and Orston has to be my favourite so far. Since it’s a least used railway station. The guard on the train told us, that the last time someone got on train, when he was working was 28 months ago. That gives you, an idea of how little people use it.
Mark T and myself can now tick off Elton and Orston railway station. Which I believe, is the least used railway station in Nottinghamshire. In 2017/18 the annual rail passenger usage was only 138.

That sure was a great cycle! Did 62.43 miles, so making it the second longest cycle of the year so far! It could well be my favourite cycle, of 2018! Since I cycled along part of the Grantham Canal. Then stopped off at Bottesford, to get some food, and also check out it’s railway station!
Then it was off to Elton and Orston railway station, which is one of the least used stations in the UK. It only gets two services a day. One to Nottingham at 6:25am and other service to Skegness at 5.10pm. There is no Sunday service. A normal service operates on most bank holidays.
Then it was back home passing Belvoir Castle! So over all, a great cycle!!
