I’ve still got a long way till, the end of the Grand Union Canal. But I am already thinking, which canal should I take on next!
So far I’ve done:-
- Chesterfield Canal
- Crinan Canal
- Grantham Canal
- Northampton Arm (Grand Union Canal)
- Nottingham & Beeston Canal
- Paddington Arm (Grand Union Canal)
- Regent’s Canal
- Slough Arm (Grand Union Canal)

Highlights include my first wetsuit walk of the year, Rutland Round, Scarborough & Whitby Railway, Crinan Canal, and of course Corrour railway station!
Crinan Canal, Britain’s most beautiful shortcut! ✅
WOW! Can’t believe that Neil, my older brother Douglas and myself, walked the whole of the Crinan Canal in both directions, a distance of around 20 miles! So maybe the longest single day walk, that any of us done!
It really does live up to it’s name, of Britain’s most beautiful shortcut!
