Ceefax last night after 38 years

After being on our TV screens for 38 years. Tonight marks the last night ever of Ceefax. With the digital switchover concluding tonight in Northern Ireland, the last analogue signal carrying the Ceefax service will be switched off  at 11:30pm, bringing the BBC’s original teletext service to a close, 38 years after its launch.

Something very sad about Ceefax closing down. When I was younger, way before the Internet and 24/7 News channels. Other than newspapers, it was the only way to be kept updated with UK and World News, Weather and Sports news.

Check out www.a516digital.com/2012/10/a-final-evening-with-ceefax.html for more images from Ceefax’s last night.

BBC Olympics HD coverage

So glad I have Freesat+ HD, means I will have 24 extra free HD channels, for the Olympics. The only down side, I can only record two channels at once. So making up my mind what to record is going to be hard work!!

Check out www.freesat.co.uk/bbc-olympics for more information.

Since the Olympics, is just over a week away. You still have time to buy yourself a Freesat HD box! Prices start at £70 for standard HD box or £165 for a Freesat+ HD box. You will of course need a working satellite dish. Check out www.freesat.co.uk/how-to/use-your-sky-dish for more information.

BBC to make 24 HD live Olympic streams

OMG! That’s great news! Just think 24 HD channels of fit lads wearing all sorts of sexy gear! From cycling skinsuits, to wetsuits, to tight running suits! So glad I have Freesat HD on my 32″ TV. Only bad thing, it can only record 2 channels at a time. Maybe it’s time to get another Freesat HD+ PVR :).

Gay couple ‘removed from Soho pub for kissing’

I am sure you will have heard this story by now. I first heard about it on twitter.  A Gay couple were asked to leave a pub in Soho for kissing. Can’t believe that things like this still happen and in what is London’s gay area 2. It’s been all over the news here in the UK.

The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident. I really hope that person that told them 2 leave, loses his job. Also the pub should be fined or even better closed down.

Read about it on the BBC New website.

The World’s Worst Place to Be Gay?

Just been watching “The World’s Worst Place to Be Gay?” on BBC Three.  Where Scott Mills travels to Uganda where the death penalty could soon be introduced for being gay. The gay Radio 1 DJ finds out what it’s like to live in a society which persecutes people like him and meets those who are leading the hate campaign.

Makes me remember just how lucky I am to openly gay man living in the UK. You can watch the full program if you live in the UK, using the link below.
