Let’s start with the only thing that pissed me off, during the whole day. That was LNER! We picked the 8.42am service from Grantham (GRA) to Harrogate (HGT). So we did not have to change at Leeds. So what did they go and do?!? But cancel the part running from Leeds to Harrogate.
Which also did piss me off. Since it was the first time, I had used a train this year. The railways really do not help themselves!
Also then found out information on Class 800s are well crap, kept telling us the train was still running all the way to Harrogate!
Right anyway moving on from that…. The walk was amazing. I loved each and every part of it! The weather could not have been better. Bugsy was so good the whole day! Love the young man he’s turned into!
The walk took us from Harrogate to Ilkley, following one the Dales Way Links, covering a distance of 17.73 miles.
You can check out the route at www.strava.com/activities/8826320475
More photos can be found at www.gordon-valentine.com/zenphoto/dales-way/
You will be pleased to hear LNER was great on the way back! We went First Class, since it only cost around £8 more!
Amazing to think that during March, I walking 161.9 miles! You think that is good… April is going to be something else! Think it will be anywhere between 200 and 250 miles… Since it’s the month that we are doing The Dales Way!
Here are the 5 longest walks that Bugsy, Mark G and myself did during March 2023!
