Documentary recounting the tragic events of August 1979, when one of the world’s leading offshore races – the Fastnet Race – was hit by hurricane-force winds and waves up to 60 feet high. The disaster took the lives of 21 people and left a lasting impact on weather forecasting and yacht safety.

Susan Calman’s Big Seaside Holiday (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 11th August 2023)

Margate. Series 3, episode 3. The comedian visits Margate on the Kent coast, where she tries her first tub of cockles, visits the mysterious Shell Grotto, and meets actress Sally Lindsay at pleasure park Dreamland.
