The Eurovision Song Contest (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 12:00am | Saturday 13th May 2023)

Final. Series 2022. Graham Norton, Hannah Waddingham, Alesha Dixon and Julia Sanina present the 67th annual song competition from Liverpool, with singer-songwriter Mae Muller representing the UK with I Wrote a Song. The show also features performances from last year’s first and second place acts, Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra and the UK’s Sam Ryder, as well as a celebration of the host city’s incredible contribution to the world of pop music featuring six past Eurovision winners – including Liverpool’s own Sonia. Graham also shares commentary duties with Mel Giedroyc.

Grand Tours of Scotland’s Rivers (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 8:30pm | Monday 15th May 2023)

A Bountiful River. Series 1, episode 3. Paul Murton explores the lower reaches of the Spey, famous for its forests, whisky distilleries and salmon as it flows north towards the coast. On the way Paul hears tales of loggers who floated timber down the river from the 17th century onwards. He also takes to the water in a canoe and discovers the rare and endangered freshwater mussels that were once harvested for their precious pearls, which adorn royal crowns.

Waterloo Road (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Tuesday 16th May 2023) ** PICK OF THE WEEK **

Kim is rocked by a blast from the past and a new pupil causes problems. Joe and Mike begin to question their future as they are faced with the realities of fatherhood. Kai struggles with his feeling for Preston and Danny makes a bold move as his future hangs in the balance.

Britain by Steam (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 16th May 2023 )

John, Peter and Paul set off from Whitby in their first vehicle of the day, a 1937 open-topped steam lorry, but when it breaks down, the trio have to hitch a ride to Beamish, the living history museum. From Beamish they head to the oldest railway line in the world, before hopping on a steam launch on the River Tyne. With just 75 miles to go and their journey coming to an end, they jump in their final steam vehicle and set off for the Scottish border.
