The presenter heads to the dramatic, yet charming coast of Northern Ireland. It’s full of warm characters, ancient traditions and a truly striking landscape. The starting point of her trip is the gorgeous Glenariff – one of the nine Glens of Antrim, stretching over 270 square miles.

Love East Midlands Parkway railway station. Can’t think of other railway station in the UK, with a power power station, right behind it!
At the time of writing this (25 October 2022), it’s one of only three coal-fired power stations left in the UK, and is scheduled to close in September 2024.

Feature-length special, starring Jodie Whittaker in her last appearance. A bullet train comes under attack on a distant world, seismologists disappear without trace on present day Earth, and the court of the Russian Tsar in 1916 falls under a malign influence. These strange incidents draw the Doctor into her last stand, against the combined forces of the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Master. Guest starring Sophie Aldred and Janet Fielding, reprising their roles as 1980s companions Ace and Tegan.
Inside Central Station (BBC 1 Scotland/HD & BBC iPlayer only | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Monday 24th October 2022)
The Argyll Line closure comes to an end as the engineering works are completed, and Anderston station and Glasgow Central Low level reopen – but not without some final hurdles. Outside the station, apprentices are put to the test on a nightshift at Polmadie, while back on the concourse, a special tea party is organised to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

Kevin McCloud revisits Vicky and Ed, who in 2015 broke free from the shackles of their hectic London lives to try to build a new life in the Somerset countryside. With a budget of just over £200,000, they set out to transform an old derelict cowshed into a 21st-century off-grid smallholding. With no building experience or project manager, they took on this dramatic transformation themselves, learning building techniques from the internet.
Saving Lives at Sea (BBC 2/HD | 7:00pm to 8:00pm | Thursday 27th October 2022)
In Kinghorn, on Scotland’s east coast, a simple call out for the RNLI crew to a paddleboarder in difficulty isn’t all that it seems. And at St Davids, on the south coast of Wales, the crew deal with one of their biggest summer shouts – a group of 16 paddleboarders and kayakers who are blissfully unaware that they are in danger.

The comedian takes her vintage camper van to the Wye Valley, which attracts tourists from far and wide for its ancient woodlands, quirky traditions and beauty spots galore. Susan starts on the River Wye itself and does it in style on the charming old boat Wye Pride. Waiting for her onboard is local legend Gerald, whose family have worked these waters since 1750. He has a few stories of times gone by to share with Susan, while a few more recent family snaps reveal just how important this spot is today. Susan also meets 22-time champion cheese roller Chris Anderson, who gives her a few top tips and shows her how it’s done.
Lighthouses: Building the Impossible (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Friday 28th October 2022) ** NEW SERIES **
Rob Bell uncovers extraordinary feats of lighthouse engineering on both sides of the Atlantic, tackling the world’s busiest shipping lane, discovering oil rigs and setting sail in search of America’s first lighthouse. Rob meets local seafarers and lighthouse keepers to hear stories of shipwrecks – discovering extraordinary feats of bravery, ingenuity and design as he continues to crack the code of these enigmatic structures.
