Now cycled 1,000 miles in 2021!

That’s me so far cycled 1,000 miles in 2021! Already 497 miles up, on this point last year! Which, I am so pleased with! Even more so than normal, since I’ve been out working again. After not working for close to 1 year… Due to some virus, that I am sure you will have heard of by now!

Call the Midwife (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Sunday 18th April 2021) ** PICK OF THE WEEK **

Controversial plans are afoot to introduce a private clinic to Nonnatus House. The proposition leads to the first disagreement in 20 years between Sister Julienne, who sees the potential to generate income, and Dr Turner, who opposes private healthcare on principle. Shelagh feels caught in the middle of their conflict, while Trixie is delighted by the opportunity of working at the new clinic. Sister Monica Joan’s crisis of faith continues to trouble her, a baby is born with no legs below the knees, and Lucille helps Cyril find the perfect accommodation that will benefit him and the Church.

Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 19th April 2021)

Greta sets off to the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to call for an immediate reduction in fossil fuel use, but is frustrated by what she sees as a media obsession constantly pitting her against Donald Trump. As she travels across Europe, Greta meets Polish miners who fear that climate change policies will further decimate their industry and culture, and discovers the prototype of a technology that aims to capture carbon dioxide from factory emissions before it enters the atmosphere. She also meets one of her inspirations – Sir David Attenborough.

Scotland’s Home of the Year (BBC Scotland/HD & BBC iPlayer only | 8:00pm to 8:30pm | Wednesday 21st April 2021)

Judges Anna Campbell-Jones, Michael Angus and Kate Spiers check head to the East of Scotland to check out properties in Aberdeenshire and St Andrews, including a rural farm steading conversion, a silvery city apartment, and a home with a garden at its heart.

This Is My House (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Thursday 22nd April 2021)

Joe Sugg and Richard Madeley join regular panellists Bill Bailey, Emily Atack and Judi Love in trying to guess which of the four Clares is the real owner of a property in Guildford, Surrey. Those trying to pass themselves off as the lady of the manor include a former air hostess and a `Klara” from Slovakia, who says most people think she is the cleaner not the homeowner. World’s Most Scenic River Journeys (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 23rd April 2021)

Bill Nighy narrates this journey along the River Spey, travelling from its source in the Cairngorms to where it enters the North Sea. Cameras also follow two river biologists counting the baby salmon population in the highest reaches of the river.

Goals for 2021… Update : 12/04/2021

Back in December 2020, I made a list of goals for 2021.

So far, I’ve done…

  • Found a new job!!
  • Making, more money than I was!

Made a good start with…

  • Cycle at least 4,000 miles – So far cycled 921.2 miles
  • Walk 1,000 miles again in year – So far walked 317.59 miles

Still to do…

  • Spend more time, seeing friends and family (Not seen, any of my family since xmas 2019!).
  • Cycle 100 miles in a single ride! Done this before, but not for a long time!!
  • Go more cycles with mates!
  • Visit many more UK railways stations!
  • Climb at least, two or three more mountains.
  • Been single for 12 years, maybe time to fix that!

UK TV programmes to watch this week : 10/04/2021

Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 12th April 2021)

Documentary following the climate activist over the course of 2019 and 2020, as she travels the world exploring the science of global warming and challenging world leaders to take action on the growing crisis. The programme follows the impact of Covid-19 on her campaign, and the challenges of persuading a world living through one crisis to face up to the possibility of another on the horizon. In the first programme, Greta travels through North America on her way to a UN climate conference in Chile.

Secrets of the Transport Museum (Yesterday | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Tuesday 13th April 2021)

A rare Triumph motorcycle is rescued from a barn and resurrected. There’s a battle against the elements for vintage aircraft to grace Brooklands’ skies once again.

World’s Most Scenic River Journeys (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 16th April 2021)

A journey down the River Po, travelling across northern Italy from the snow-capped Alps to the spell-binding delta, where the river meets the Adriatic Sea. The trek concludes in Chioggia, an island town in the Venetian lagoon, home to one of the biggest fish markets on the Adriatic. Bill Nighy narrates.
