George Clarke’s National Trust Unlocked (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Sunday 20th September 2020)

In Devon, George visits one of the National Trust’s quirkiest buildings, a bear hut on the 6400-acre Killerton estate. The main house was given away because of the socialist ideals of the aristocratic family who lived there. George unearths secrets and scandal at Baddesley Clinton Hall, a fortified Tudor manor house in Warwickshire where in the past the architecture has meant the difference between life and death, then heads home to the north-east for a walk through Gibside Estate, a landscape park with royal connections and crowned with jaw-dropping architecture.

All Creatures Great and Small (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 22nd September 2020)

Mrs Pumphrey is convinced her beloved Pekingese is dying. James discovers that she has not been keeping her pampered pet on the strict diet he prescribed, and is forced to take the dog in while it recovers from illness brought about by over indulgence. Tristan prepares to return to university, but needs Siegfried’s help to pay for his accommodation. However, his older brother is not prepared to part with a penny until he has proved he is serious about being a vet. James treats the Aldersons’ prize bull, and Helen rewards his efforts with some unusual home baking.

The Grand Party Hotel (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Thursday 24th September 2020)

Behind the doors of the Shankly Hotel in Liverpool, which has themed party suites so guests can celebrate important moments in their lives. But with the hotel’s online rating having slipped, a new general manager has been called in to shake things up, although his changes do not go down well with the staff. Elsewhere, wedding planner Ciara helps brides-to-be Trudie and Danielle, while guest relations officer Liam looks after Laura, who has checked in to celebrate her recent divorce.

Saving Lives at Sea (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Thursday 24th September 2020)

On the Wirral coast, the crew of Hoylake’s rescue hovercraft is called out to an unconventional casualty – a porpoise stranded by the outgoing tide. Two hundred miles to the north another unusual victim of the British tides, a teenage wedding guest in suit and tie, is plucked off a fast-disappearing rocky outcrop in the middle of the sea by the Kinghorn crew, while in Cornwall, the Penlee lifeboat crew receives a dreaded call – a fishing boat, skippered by a fisherman the crew all know, is in flames miles out at sea.

Secret Scotland (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 25th September 2020)

The presenter explores the beautiful Trossachs and west of Scotland, a place filled with dramatic scenery and abundant with iconic glens, impressive castles and rare wildlife. Susan begins at the fairy-tale Castle of Inveraray, where she goes behind the scenes with His Grace, the Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell, to reveal some amazing secrets that may not be for the faint hearted. At the picture-perfect Loch Katrine, the comedian gets exclusive access at a world-class feat of Scottish engineering and in Inverawe, discovers the secrets to Scotland’s world-famous smoked salmon.

Vlog: Yet another 200 miles on the bike! And even more fun!

Had another great week on the bike, ended up doing my second 200 mile week of this year so far! Also done another two, 50+ mile cycles! Had a mate up doing photos! Plus starting to think, what I will be doing for my 41 birthday! Goal is 82 mile cycle!

George Clarke’s National Trust Unlocked (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Sunday 13th September 2020)

George visits the magnificent and meticulously crafted country retreat of Standen in West Sussex – one of the best examples of the Arts and Crafts design movement to be found anywhere in the world. He discovers a masterpiece of Gothic Revival architecture at Tyntesfield in Somerset, with its acres of flower-filled terraces, and unleashes a medieval catapult at Corfe Castle in Dorset, an iconic ruin who’s first stone was laid almost a millennium ago, before risking vertigo with his trusty companion Loki at the highest point on England’s south coast – the famous Golden Cap.

Siegfried applies to become attending vet at Darrowby racecourse – but the position comes with conditions, and he is torn between his ambition and his loyalty to the practice. Tristan collects the debts owed to the surgery, but ends up losing all the money and resorts to placing a risky bet to cover up his mistake. When the favourite to win on the race day is diagnosed with a inoperable condition, James has his first painful experience of having to put an animal down – only to end up being threatened with legal action by the owner.

The comedian’s latest Scottish tour covers Falkirk and the Lothians. She takes a canal boat trip that includes a look behind the scenes at the world’s only rotating boat lift. Venturing into Midlothian, she visits a royal hideaway with a dramatic history and tries her hand at falconry. She also visits the site of the world stone-stacking championship and learns the secrets of a small island with links to smuggling that is believed to have inspired Treasure Island.

First Century ride (The EU version!) of 2020

So pleased with myself! At long last, I’ve done my first Century ride of 2020! But it was easy one, the 100km one! Wish it had been the 100 mile one! But still super pleased with 62.52 miles!
